BIOGRAPHY

Juan Rafael Martínez López “JML”, is a Guitarist, composer, songwriter, sound engineer and producer from Puerto Rico. Was born in June 27 1983 and raised on San Juan, Puerto Rico. Juan Martínez is the third son of Juana López Pastor and José Raúl Martínez Rivera. At the age of three Juan Martínez started showing a genuine interest towards music and spent his first years learning easy piano songs based on classical repertoires. He started taking official classical piano lessons at the age of eight under his first piano teacher where he learned his foundation in classical music and sight reading. Juan continued taking piano lessons with several music teachers over the next six years. At the age of 14, Juan was studying under the Department of Education under a program called “Estudios Libres”. He was working full time at a disco hit warehouse store when he started showing more interest towards electric guitar and a few months later he bought himself his first guitar and started applying everything he learned of his piano lessons to the electric guitar. Worked on several part time jobs while obtaining his high school degree. Juan went to the University of Puerto Rico and studied music. By the age of 22 he worked as a music writer for other artists, composing songs and material for several different projects and became JML. Now being father of two, JML started his solo music career with his debut album “Inner Revolution" on 2016. On 2017 JML released his first single “Winter" feat. Paulo J. Castrodad. Later that year, “Winter" (Múzeiks Remix) single was released along with single “Segunda ocasión". On 2018 singles “Radio Ballad" and “Beatriz" were released. That same year JML released his second album “The key of life” including songs “Omnicloud" and his first 15 minute song “Our time" making The key of life an album that contains 13 songs. On 2019 JML met guitarist James Fontana and both recorded and released the single “Knuckles of Gold”. Near the end of that year JML released his third solo album “The key of life part 2” including songs like “Army Girl" and “Eternal instant" to his original repertoire making the third album a total of 11 songs. On 2020 JML released the singles “Beautiful" and “Callisto". On 2021 JML released his fourth studio album “The key of life part 3” containing 13 new songs along with five singles that same year, “Cielos negros”, “El infierno de sangre”, “Amore”, “Cae la noche" and “Rigel". Later that year JML teamed up with pianist Vsevolod Koudriavtsev and both composed, arranged and recorded “Elvish journey on earth" containing 9 songs. I am proud to present my sheet music work. For me it is an honor as a music composer and a musician to be able to share my original work with the world, not only as an audio form in a musical work of art in my albums or singles, but also as an educational tool and a way for musicians all over the world to have an in depth approach into my songwriting. Every Rhythm and Guitar solo is transcribed with the precision needed to perform every musical piece with as much detail as possible and i provide a Guitar pro 7 file so musicians and composers are able to hear the music and read it at the same in the learning/practice procedure. Inside of each song folder there is a PDF file of each instrument.

I hope you like the craftmanship and musicianship in my playing and enjoy the learning process as much as i did making it!
